  • Does anybody know something about this Columbus tubeset? The decal reads "Tubi Rinforzati Grantiti Columbus Acciaio Speciale" It is on an old Faggin around '80ish. I tried to Google it but the Information were confusing. Some say it is SL and some say it is cheap entry level material.

  • some say it is cheap entry level material.

    slap them hard

    Some say it is SL

    congratulate them

The chrome is in really good condition so can't be that old?
The fork steerer is stamped 884123 so perhaps made in 1988?
Also has Reynolds 531 Butted stamped on the steerer and campagnolo dropouts. However, there are no marks or stamps anywhere on the frame.
    Any ideas?

edit: after a bit of scrapping away at the paint i've found the same number as above stamped on the downtube lug of the bb shell, if that makes sense?

  • Local charity shop is selling a favori which, i think is made by ellis briggs. Not bothered about the bike but it has a san marco rolls saddle on it with a bonkers bridget riley-esque headfuck of a pattern on it. Cant find a THING about it. Swirly contour pattern of black and white lines which really messes with your eyes. Its bloody ace and i want to give them a fair offer on it....being a charity and all. Any idea what the history of it is? Thanks

  • Can someone ID this Cinelli frame? It's made out of chromoly, seems tig welded and has a modern road dropout

  • Maybe an early Cinelli Aliante?

  • Oof, lovely

  • thank you guys! The guy wants £205 is it fair? it has some scratches and a small dent on the seattube and it doesn't come with a fork tho

  • Favori is indeed one of Ellis Briggs'. Pay what you deem fair for it depending on the components on it.

  • Hi guys,

I picked this up recently. It's an old Moducel Team frame and a real beauty. The previous owner tells me it's a colnago, but the detailing on the lugs don't look familiar to me. I've never seen the club logo without the stem.

I posted in the Colnago owners' thread and the consensus is that its not a Colnago, so what is it?!

    Any help much appreciated.

  • This frame has been in my family for a long time and has recently been re-discovered. Im looking for as much information as possible about this piece as I think its quite a rare item. Thought to be an early 1970's track frame by F.W.Evans, but I haven't been able to find any solid information on how to date this frame, or any information or even pictures of old Evans track frames.

If anyone could help I would be very grateful, and if people could also estimate how much this frame would be worth I would also be grateful.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello, I'm new here.
Apologies for a double post but I found this thread after posting in and old "For Sale" thread.
Ewan, I'm pretty sure that I am the newest owner of that FW Evans Track frame.

From what I have managed to find, with some obsessive searching, is that there have been two owners in Perth, Western Australia. It's been used as both a track bike and street fixie.
I just arrived here on Tuesday 21 Jan '14; just North of Sydney and I am building it up into track bike again to race at the local velodrome (outdoor track really).
If you have any information regarding the frame's history, at least during it's time with your family? I'm very keen to have a look at it.

    Cheers,

    MarkT.

  • Hello everyone.

I've been trying to identify this Jan Janssen bike I have, but I can't seem to find the correct model.
Hopefully you guys can help with it.
Here's some pictures I took, and I've tried to cover everything needed to try to identify it.

    Jan Janssen photos

    Seat Tube (C-C) = 53cm
    Seat Tube (C-T) = 55cm
    Top Tube (C-C) = 57cm
    Crank Size = 170mm

I bought the bike here in Portugal, but the seller told me it came from Holland
Hope someone can help me with this.
    Thank you.

ps - some of the photos aren't rotated, and I really don't know why, on my computer they are, but google seems to want them other way...

  • trying to identify a frame/fork

  • yellow fork looks like pinarello

  • yep, thanks, 531 sticker through me off

  • Hi everyone,
I bought a vintage track frame with Tommasini decals a while ago, and since it most probably isn't really a Tommasini, would be fun to know it's real origin. Anyone got a hint? Also, if someone has a good guess about the tubing, would be interesting to know.

This is about everything I know of the frame:
-The size is ST 60 cm and TT 55,5 cm, both center to center
    -Weighs around 2,15 kg
-Angles are 75 deg front and 75,5 deg ST
    -Seatpost 27,2 mm
    -BCM lugs
    -British threaded BB shell
-On the bottom of the BB shell engraved numbers "1179" and "60"
-Apart from the BCM logos and BB engravings I can't find any other logos, writing etc.

Some pictures can be found from here.
