Thanks to everyone for coming along, having fun and being patient.
It was a total fiasco really, but that was always the idea. Good fun.

I was hampered by unbelievable cramp....in both hamstrings at one point!, but all-in-all a good ride!, thanks Dan

Well done Hovis and Maria! Hope you enjoyed it. We really need to get the tandem back on the road.

Aye, awesome job.

I feel like this was a really good introduction to forum rides, nice to meet you all today. Hope my patriotic lycra didn't offend any of you too much...

Am back home now with Maria. That was an awesome ride! Shame about all the punctures. Maria definitely enjoyed stoking us up ditchling beacon, she was smiling the whole way. Ok maybe she wasn't. But considering she only started cycling 3 months ago I'm bloody impressed. Now I just need to convince her to do it again...
Anyways top notch organization and patience from the marshals. Everyone was super friendly and cafe at the end was a good laugh. Look forward to the next one!

A lot longer and muddier than I had anticipated, but I had fun. Cheers Dan. Ditchling was as tough as I expected, I stopped for a few secs behind a slow car, but otherwise did ok. Getting down the other side was almost as tough as getting up! Sorry I couldn't stick around for a drink at the end. Nice to meet you all. Highlight was the skid/puncture at the end - nice work! Hope everyone got home safe.

Yes you do! Tandem ride in June. Get ready...

The tandem looked to cool on the road, I don't think I've ever ridden near one before.

Cracking ride. Well happy.

• #362
my nice bike got all dirty and YAL made us ride up at least 1 more hill than usual, 0/10 worst ride ever
-
• #363
Highlight was the skid/puncture at the end
the final skid through the tyre as that guy stopped by the pier was pretty much the most perfect moment on any forum ride I've been on

• #364
^^ Yeah that would be Bilal, trying to follow up on my skid lol
-
• #365
Really fun, bit stop-start, but thanks to dan for leading and bilal for the spectacular skid

So how many rode up and how many walked?

Really great ride today, a bit wet and windy than I like, but big rep to YAL for leading us safely to Brighton, (need to start gym work to keep up with your pace) but also a mention for Simon and Tim for looking after the back of the group. A really engineered team! Thank you.
For the cross-wind going down ditchling hill all I have to say is...DO A LEAN!!!! ;)

So how many rode up and how many walked?
Probably around 7 or 8, not including the epic tandem! =)
-
• #372
which approach did you take? not the usual one by the looks of it?
-
• #373
Either Indra or I or anyone crashed I believe..
I now consider him a good luck charm and won't go on any ride again without his presence.
Great ride guys & thank god Hovis stopped to stuff his face at the bottom of ditchling - having the tandem fly past me as I walked up would have ruined my cycling year.

Thanks very much for this ride Dan! Cheers to everybody for a great day. Really enjoyed the ride and company. Do a Lean! lol

So how many rode up and how many walked?
I'm not sure but Vunugu definitely made it up first.
This was such a fun ride, thanks so much for organising and leading it Dan.
Ditchling was fun as always!
