Bike Skills Coaching

  • Hello Girlies,

I need to complete my log books for my MIAS coaching qualifications so was wondering wether there is any of you who would like to go and do some bike skills coaching- mountain biking based.

I am MIAS (Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme) Level 2 qualified coach, I also have 10 years of National level competition in both cross country and downhill mountain bike racing. I have been Downhill national champ several times and am hoping to break onto the world circuit this year - So plenty of relevant experience.

I am offering this super cheap as its for my benefit too! £30 per person for a 3 hour morning or afternoon of riding with specific attention paid to-
    • Bike set up – pre-ride bike check
    • Balance
    • Body position
    • Gear selection
    • Controlled Braking
    • Cornering
    • Climbing
    • Descending

    And for the intermediate rider
    • Advanced cornering
    • Technical terrain
    • Drop offs
    • Line selection
    • Technical climbs
    • Technical descents
    • Over coming obstacles
    • Bunny hops
    • Manuals

Also it would be really good to meet fellow female riders in London.

If anyones interested PM me and we will set something up, groups are fine too!

    Thanks!

  • My other half might be interested, if men are allowed I'd be too.

  • Yeh definitely!

  • I'd be interested. Mr Cake does a fair amount of off-roading, and it would be nice if I could improve my skills and increase my confidence so that I might be able to join him occasionally.

  • If men are also welcome, you might want to cross post in this thread as well:

    1. Mrs DJ
    2. Doctor Cake
    3. Emma

That Emma being my OH who needs to remember her login details.

We're Manchester-based but would travel for training, make a weekend of it etc, as we've entered Howies BattleOnTheBeach and they keep announcing more pro riders...

  • Oooh. This kind of sounds awesome. Would need a freewheel and a back brake though wouldn't I? And probably some bigger tyres. Hrmmmmmmmmm....damnit.

  • so any proposed dates or locations for this? mr and mrs dj could do thursday, friday or saturdays

nb the other half slipped a disc 3 months ago and has not been offroad since then, we are planning on a 30 minute fire road ride this week just to see how her back is doing.
