Slightly off topic, but how do people deal with dupes? After years of having music saved on all sorts of different hard-disks, USB sticks and devices, I finally put it all onto a NAS a couple of years ago and now have hundereds/thousands of duplicated albums and tracks.
Identifying the dupes themselves is pretty straightforward in sotmhing like iTunes, but I still need to manually go through and delete each dupe. Does anyone know a automated/part-automated way of doing this?
It's been suggested I used something like Musicbrains Picard to tidy up all the metadata then use a plugin in Song Bird, but I've got over 500gb of music and on my puny desktop machine it will take months to run...
