Morris Travellers are lovely. Presumably you've seen the Wheeler Dealers where one gets almost completely rebuilt. Seems easy when Ed China does it!

No, never seen Wheeler Dealers - don't really do TV. I don't think a Stage 2 A-series would really be 'highly strung'. Particularly on Canems fuel injection. And I have a soft spot for the A-series engine, particularly the 'parp' it gives on the over-run.

And anyway, Cycliste's father (who's decided he no longer wants his daughter's old rust-bucket, hence it passing to me) is an A-series afficionado. I think at the last count he had a dozen of them. If I replaced it with anything else then the moment where I ask for his daughter's hand in marriage will be even more fraught than it will be anyway.
