I went to see Dani on Tuesday in hope of taking him up on his offer to try out one of his bikes. Sadly (but in a good way for Dani), they were all sold out of their Prima model and although he offered to loan me a Ciao (Dutch style) or City (8-speed), I didn't feel comfortable trying out something with no experience of similar bikes to compare them to (not that I'm an expert bike tester or anything anyway).
On the upside, it was a pleasure to meet Dani and Terry (one of his mechanics). For all the criticism I've heard, he comes over as quite a genuine guy who does seem to have his shit together, and a genuine passion for what he does. Although it's a shame the shop has to close, from what I gather, it's the necessary sacrifice to survive and grow his brand, which going on the evidence, should survive quite well regardless of the shit that gets thrown at it on here. More power to you, Dani.
Let the nerging commence.
rep for going there to try them out and not just talk about it
