  • After a disgruntled email to the guy who sold it to me, another couple of emails with Jason I think I have got to the bottom of it.

    Rourke did indeed scrap the frame as there was an identical one made as a warranty replacement, the rear stays were crushed, testing was done on the head tube to see if it could be bent and the upper headset ring was removed to study the brazing.

    After the frame was scrapped the guy who sold it to me had the rear stays repaired, on close inspection you can see there are slight imperfections in the filing of the weld which do not match the rest of the workmanship on the frame. The painting has also been redone by the seller. You can tell this because there is paint over the top of the head tube showing that it was done after the integrated headset ring was removed. I cant imagine Rourke would of done that!

    Once again I'd like to say how helpful Jason has been in getting this sorted over the last couple of days.
