• Thinking about building a new wheelset, I've got a general idea of what I want, wide rim and decent hubs at around the 1.5kilo mark, it's not going to be full weight weenie but weight will play a small factor, I'm 85kg so am looking at 24/28, i've narrowed it down to a few options but want opinions:

    Rims:
    Pacenti sl23's or Archetypes
Not much to split them but I feel that the uneven wearing of the anodising on the archetypes may annoy me and the sl23's are lighter and 1mm wider so moar aeroozzzzz (apparently; but if it is it'll be very marginal)

    Hubs:
Really liking the look of the DT Swiss 350s (374g and £220), if I got them I'd go straight pull so 24/28 (what i wanted anyway), they have the same internals as the critically acclaimed 240s (317g and £315) but for the sake of 57g, £95 and losing the straight pull i'd rather go 350s.

Then there's the American Classics rd205 and 58 hubs amounting to 263g, and witstanleys have got them for £180 per pair, but there's mixed reviews regarding durability, specifically around the bearings, this seems to be on earlier models though so i'm not sure if that's changed when they got a re-design in 2012, as there's been few reviews since then. On top of that there's the fact that eventually converting them to 11 speed will cost more, and seems like quite a task with re-wheel dishing etc. as opposed to the dt's where it's: remove a spacer. But for 111grams and £40 I'm not sure whether it's worth it

    Spokes:
Not really thought about them yet, might go bladed, might not. Either going to be Dt Swiss competition's or aerolites.

So what do you all think? Changes and reccomendations are welcome too
