  • Shit, maybe mole it over for a while.

  • Just to reiterate Punkture, our frames are made from the same guys in Taiwan that supply for Surly and Cooper. I have mentioned this a few times in the past but you must have missed this, so before you state something which might defame a genuine company make sure you know what you are talking about.

I thought you'd moved production though now, to a cheaper supplier?

  • our frames are made from the same guys in Taiwan that supply for Surly and Cooper.

    Sounds familiar...

  • This is part of a short story I am reviewing for my writing MA.

Sitting on the floor of the loo, falling in love with dead boys and Duchesses, waiting to shit out my childhood, don’t tell me I don’t know how to celebrate in style!

When the searing shitting surge gripped me in the bowel I was glad. I folded in pain and still I was glad and then I shat and I was gladder still. And then I vomited. And still I shat. The ache in my stomach was so intense it was as if the fig juice had taken seed inside my digestive track. The fig tree that grew there was spearing me alive, releasing itself through my mouth and through my anus. I was like a hog on a spit. And then I cried out for my mother.

  • I want that book.

Who did shit on the poor little buggers head in the end?

i want to know what sick, coprophiliac German shit on the mole's head too.

Sorry, I can't remember for shit.

    English version here:
The Story of the Little Mole Who Went in Search of Whodunit: Werner Holzwarth, Wolf Erlbruch: 9780810944572: Amazon.com: Books

  • It's funny you should post that, I was just talking to a children's book illustrator at a party on Saturday about this German children's book:

'Of the mole who wanted to know who shat on his head.'

    Spooky or what?

    I have the Hungarian version!

  • Oooh, spooky, I was reading that to my daughter in the library yesterday. But it was called "The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew it was None of His Business.".

It was rubbish. Did not borrow.

Oliver, since you are here, can you comment on the fullstops at the end of the title quotation above?

  • What about it? It shouldn't strictly be there, as it's not a sentence, but we do put full stops at the end of one-word posts all the time, so it's not a big deal.

  • It was a sentence before the auto embedder got hold of it:

The book was called "Something long with a fullstop.".

  • so who curled one out on his cabeza?

Forget about the full stops - the random capitalisation is freaking me out.

  • Yeah, I do that when I want to do initial caps but can't bring myself to promote words like "of". I should probably htfu.

  • If I remember correctly it was a rather large dog from the the local neighbourhood, but the little fella managed to exact his revenge buy climbing on top of his kennel and squeezing one out on his head in return .....

  • I may have missed the boat here but has anyone noticed that Foffa bikes are now available on Wiggle?

    CSB....

  • Yeah it's been mentioned.

  • I went to see Dani on Tuesday in hope of taking him up on his offer to try out one of his bikes. Sadly (but in a good way for Dani), they were all sold out of their Prima model and although he offered to loan me a Ciao (Dutch style) or City (8-speed), I didn't feel comfortable trying out something with no experience of similar bikes to compare them to (not that I'm an expert bike tester or anything anyway).

On the upside, it was a pleasure to meet Dani and Terry (one of his mechanics). For all the criticism I've heard, he comes over as quite a genuine guy who does seem to have his shit together, and a genuine passion for what he does. Although it's a shame the shop has to close, from what I gather, it's the necessary sacrifice to survive and grow his brand, which going on the evidence, should survive quite well regardless of the shit that gets thrown at it on here. More power to you, Dani.

    Let the nerging commence.

did he shit down the chimney or does the kennel have other random holes in its roof?

    interested in the logistics here...

  • Carnegie library in Herne Hill has as copy. They're open tomorrow.
