You need a better centre back, a better left winger and a striker.
We have Gareth McAuley but he's out with a hamstring strain picked up last week. As for a left winger, I think Sessegnon could maybe occupy that role but (for some unknown reason) Brunt is not only starting every game, but captain as well!?
We're definitely short a striker but i'd like to see us try Anichebe and Berahino as a partnership to see what that creates.
All in all though, it's almost like I support a real football team now...

So Torres back to Atletico as well as Mata to ManU (lol)?
Chelsea won't sell Mata to Utd, shirley. Better to keep him warming the bench than giving rivals a sniff of getting back in the race.

it will take more than matta! if Rooney was to go the other way i can see Jose pushing for it. Although very sad to see Matta in this predicament, quality player

Loin, when did Sherwood put his foot in his mouth, would like to read that in full..
Not sure if he's playing up to the thick english manager thing, or just saying that to keep bentaleb's confidence up, and man manage him.
France are thick with central midfielders and Bentaleb hasn't played much first team football, so that claim is really a stretch...

David Moyes has guaranteed his players European competition this year, even if he has to write the song himself.

Papers are full of stories about who Manchester United will be buying.
Was funny listening to Neville claim that united could help Gundogan, Reus, Draxler, Koke, Vidal etc show their full potential. L O L

So... Not sure how it came across on the telly but, from where I was sitting, that was the most energetic I've seen us since the 5-5 at the end of last season.
It appears that, in the last 8 days, we've learned to press higher up the pitch and move forward at twice the pace we did before. We're also looking to be much more direct and played some fantastic balls through the middle.
We still look shaky at the back and Lugano (amazing header aside) is far too slow for this league.
If we can keep playing like that every week, there's no way we'll be in trouble come May!
Performance had a lot of positives from where I was sitting in the effra. But we have proved we can play much better than that. There is a definite confidence issue though so the next game against villa is crucial not to lose

So Mata, looks more and more like it that Man Utd are looking for a late deal. Honestly don't think that Chelsea will sell in this window considering were we are in the league. £37m is still quite a bit shy of what I thought a bid would come in for. Manure are notorious lowballers of course.

Man U are desperate... Mata wants to play first team football before the WC... Tough one, not sure how he'll slot in at OT...
Would be a big loss for us, he's a great player but obviously not in TSO's plans... sigh

United in for Dante.
He's 30 but would be a step up from what's there, Bayern might be convinced to sell given they have yet to agree new contract with him.
-
• #96014
would be happy to see Dante join us. mata too for that, uh,matter. as long as we don't panic and pay way too much.
-
• #96015
You'll panic, there isn't a dry sheet in the house at OT...

United in for Dante.
Moyes is travelling through the inferno (Old Trafford) towards purgatory (Goodison Park).
Paradise is Preston North End

The difference is I and every Evertonian would call him up on it and he's been cunted off for it on all the Everton forums
You lot make light of Saurez doing it a) because you're so used to him doing it week in week out b) because you think he's always being fouled c) you think he's being clever or d) fuck knows
It's sad the way football has gone over the last 10yrs re diving/cheating and even sadder when we see English players doing it. When did it ever become 'just part of the game now'? That's complete bollocks....BUT refs and pundits have just watered it down so much

£40m is being mentioned as a provisional transfer fee for Mata. I can't help but think it's a stupid idea to make one of your direct competitors stronger and that it'll bite us in the arse.
-
• #96023
Exactly, its not as if Roman needs the cash, but it will help with FFP (whenever that comes in?). Still Chelsea are crazy to not insist on Rooney in return, he's the kind of player who could win you the league, whereas £40m in the coffers and Ba up front ain't.

United won't know what to do with him or get the best out of him. They have sunk so low that this is actually a backward step for Mata where a couple of years ago it would have been a great move.
Moyes will probably injure him within a fortnight anyhow
Boat, paddle spring to mind -

Wishful thinking Mike, although their defence is fucked they only need one of Rooney or Van Persie back and they'll be a shoe in for fourth. I reckon he'll be Moyes' equivalent of signing Ozil, except United don't have a history of wetting the bed like Arsenal.
Tim Sherwood in being a stupid plonker shocker.
Saying Bentaleb should be considered for the French World cup tea.
"I haven't had a close look at who the French have got (in that position), but Nabil is a good player."
Cabaye, Pogba, Sissoko, Matuidi, Grenier, Kondogbia, Guilavogui, Gonalons. Oh and Etienne Capoue.
