That would largely depend on the guy on the gate...
And having read the Southern website, the word Tandem doesn't appear.
Might be easier to roll up to Preston Park station which was rarely manned when I was down that way...
Preston park being the train that goes to London Bridge instead of Victoria? Because you'll still need to swap over on the Brighton station platform otherwise, there's always a few guards there.

You can just go North from Preston Park... Victoria/London Bridge are co-incident when viewed from Brighton...

Hmm, well a quick look reveals that apparently southern are OK with tandems so long as the train isn't busy, and first capital connect not so ok. I'm sure we will find a way. Worst comes worst I can recruit one of you keen beans to stoker me back to London whilst the missus gets the train ;)

In the past two days I have soda blasted the paint off an old raliegh frame (that is a bit to small for me :() so that is is a lovely raw frame. Then assembled with bits from other frames and running two brakes and single speed cog. Now the bike is running tubs, my comfy gel seat and will be taking spray tyre magic.
Will the bike last as so far I have only gone up and down the road in it?

All I guess I'll say is that if you're going to ride 55 miles into the countryside with a bunch of other people please try and be considerate in your choices, ie how will what I do affect others? #thematic
And I love a tandem so please come. However I'm going to have to leave getting back to London up to you two. As for the rest, once in Brighton group save up and as others have said realise the group may have to take staggered trains to all get back to London.

If the weather looks ok I might bring the lopro out, otherwise it's the brooklyn.

Don't know about the others, but have a contingency plan. So worst comes to the worst, you guys go on and I await my knight in shining car.
So fish and chips on the sea front or gut buster breakfast at the market dinner?

In my case:
If the weather looks ok I might bring the deep carbon wheels, otherwise it's the other silly wheels. ;)

Which ones that? There is one on upper Gloucester street that is nice a friendly and nice ales, but poor bike locking...
There is a nice sausage and mash pub, varying sausages and varying mash with a couple of sides too that is near seven dials, great locking area but big steep hill :(

You are right, that is a very nice pub. Your suggestion is right.
