It's finally my turn to assemble an unnecessary and self-indulgent custom frame... I can't claim to be a "T-rex" or an "Orangutan" - I just fancy a custom... so there.
I have been in discussion with Matt of Talbot for many months - changing my mind every 6.2 days (on average). Initially I wanted a Do-it-All Cross Bike (Much like Rogan's) but in the end I knocked together a Cannondale MTB for Commuting and Fun-Time. Now I have settled on a Pure-Breed Roadie Bike from Matt - A proper mile muncher - giving me more motivation put in 'proper' rides on the weekends.
This will be a lightweight but sensible build - Modern components but an overall retro flavour... Which of course means Campag and 32h hubs!
There are some Hope Pro3 hubs under my bed somewhere... And a flite saddle which will be my perch of choice for now. The Frame will be mostly 853 - But will probably have a Columbus Max top tube for absolutely no good reason.
In effect the bike will be a fillet brazed (so lighter) version of my beloved Basso Loto - but with a slightly taller headtube and a 1-1/8" headtube to permit a wider choice of forks.. I will be carrying across the groovy fastback stays...
You just can't move for Talbots these days.
