London.
The city that hates cyclists. It's becoming more obvious by the day I'm afraid -

Everyone knows red is danger, OY! or NO!.....I could'nt see the sign officer as it was obscured by the bus in the bus only lane maybe haha....It is a lazy Chief Wiggum type pull if they've got some targets to hit, as Oliver says its been a known ticket spot for years, getting stung there is nearly as embarrassing as owning a Foffa.
A family pack of donuts for the Rozza's and its as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. But they've got you bang to rights, take it on the chin and put it down to experience and pretend you're an early victim of TFL's new East London tax.

Go home and drive on the left where you came from.

Afraid not. Policemen fining cyclists for using the bridge to cross the canal onto the Outer Circle this morning confirms this view. Yet again.
If cyclists were welcome in London then the bridge would be divided into 2 sections one for peds and one for cyclists. There would be a sign saying max speed for cyclists 10 mph. Instead you are expected to dismount and walk across the bridge. It's a joke. This is just one incident of many that I come across on a weekly basis to confirm this view.
Yes we have shitty cycle lanes that invariably lead to disaster or into a parked car at best and we have lip service but when it comes to it London hates cyclists and so do most of the fuckers that drive in London. Because they have been taught, knowingly or otherwise that we are scum

I generally agree with you, London is doing its best to put people off cycling, but that bridge has a round sign with a red border...

I bet you all think this means 'WARNING EXPLODING CARS'
This means what exactly? No exploding cars? No cars with open fires? No cars with on fire wigs?
-
• #66
No explosive/flammable loads, I guess? The kind of sign they have at the entrance to tunnels to stop you making a big mess when things go wrong.

cars mind is blown.

Indeed it does. But the question I am posing is why?
If London cared about cyclists that sign would be gone, the bridge would be partitioned as I explained and we could all cycle over it in safety in the mornings and evenings without fear of a fine. -

What of red triangles? Old people are banned?
Warning, prostate exam?

The traffic order permitting cycling in the Bloomsbury Way/Vernon Place bus lane is due to come into effect on 23 January, subject to some work over that weekend (citation 1, citation 2).

I've got nothing to defend. I'm merely stating that it's nothing to do with understanding, it's merely an issue of awareness.
