  • Std length V-brakes are handy for clearly big chunky tyres. If you have sufficient clearance with mini-Vs, then standard Vs will have no benefit at all and will suffer from the considerable downside of requiring more cable pull than brifters are able to provide.

    In other words, don't use std. length V-brakes unless you want to include a bodge like a Travel Agent to alter the pull ratio of the brake levers.
