The straight alu fork still had a 600 crown race on -very tight- and the Chorus headset on the bike was fairly rough, so I dug out and cleaned the 600 headset which appeared to be all good. Bearings were smooth, but I'll open and clean them properly eventually.
Brakes seem to work, xt 8spd rear mech and shifter installed, mtb cassette, random wheels and a straight bar -as the xt shifter wont fit on risers.
It's a pitty I wont get to test it properly tomorrow as its all snowy over here atm.
