  • So heres the culmination of todays playing about:

Seatpost looks HUGE but its at the same height i have it on the Cdale Track and the frame is same era, same size

  • That is some saddle-to-bar drop you've got.

  • This is so fucking sweet!

  • I don't know why it looks so huge, it's pretty much the same as this:

Using exactly the same components at the moment until I get the new bits and bobs through!

Think it's just the camera angle....

  • Perhaps I just didn't push the Seatpost in far enough....

  • Have you accounted for the lower bb on the road frame?

  • Very good point, if I'm honest, I hadn't even thought about it!

  • You'll soon discover if it's too high. My saddle is diffierent heights on my track bike(s) vs the #cannondalerack vs. my CX bike because of the BB height.

  • That is a huge drop! but i love it.

  • My question is...why? Frames are too small for you Dick. You need a bbb.

  • Love it. Wheels and fork are so rad for this. Not sure about the 7900 chainset though. How come you're not going with the 7700?

  • i dont know, it feels like the 7900 is a lot lighter?

perhaps im not giving it a chance..... hummnnn

  • oh that is pretty hawt though....

    [/url]

  • 7700 or 7900 cranks...... that is the question.....

  • 7700

7900 Are the ugliest cranks I've ever seen.

  • you've got wound-ups and spinergies (< ?!), how is having that DA ring with that setup even a question?

  • Yeah, mate, that looks tidy. If you really want to go hollowtech 2, maybe a 7800 chainset with that ring? Just reckon it'd suit the rest of the build so much better than the 7900.

  • Wow that frame is certainly being treated to the royal treatment, very nice to see :)

Tis a shame about the blemishes to it but all in all it's a beauty and very light. At the time I had two other frames in stock both alloy with carbon forks and this was 100's of grams lighter then either even with the stem and headset fitted.

Certainly going to be an interesting bike, much more adventurous than if it stayed in my hands. Although I did consider the reducer to open up stem/ headset options but would have probably stayed with the original, as others have said it's not irreversible so I'm good with that.

Can't wait to see it finished.....

    Haha - THIS!!!

    Thanks Tel

Yeah its a real shame its not pristine, as im usually such a perfectionist/OCD about things like that, however, its far from displeasing to the eye, ive contemplated respray but just dont see the point. I like its honest appeal and theres no functionality issues, and SHIT it is so so light!!

  • I think spinergys need destickering but otherwise this is looking intense....

  • I kinda like the loudness of the spinergy's and the yellow looks awesome while riding!

So over the past few days I've chopped the steerer, changed the bars, changed the saddle changed the seatpost clamp and fitted all the groupset other than the shifters, brake shoes/pads and cabling and done a quick weigh in

    6.8kg

Where does that stand in the way of weight?

  • Pic with bits on

  • Cabling and chain will add a fair bit, might just scrape sub 8kilos. Whatever the weight, this is winning.

  • Yeah i guess ive not splurged enough for real weight weenie shit but hey, can always upgrade!

chain is weighing in at 320g
Cables are looking at around 500g
    Shifters are 430g

    So theres another 1250g

so with bar tape and pedals, probably looking around 8.5kg in total
