  • Postage from argentina would be a madness! plus your right I have literally no use for it apart from on the shelf.

To finally end this threads first page I've got a few links to some of the history of zeus and co.

    and some meme's

  • First world problems...? :p

  • postage from argentina? nah.. just patience. i can bring it over the pond for free next year!

  • Haha lively, I really need to try and hold back on the shopping. They've got some nice frames over there though. Hispano France made some really nice ones, would love to own one as its prob the closest I'll get to a Chilean built frame. No lie If it was my size I would ask you to bring it back in a suitcase for me ;-)
What are you up to in Argentina?

  • Ohhhh that blue one...

My search for a tiddly frame continues... :)

  • my father lives there. actually he is from there, so i have half my family in corrientes :)

i had a privitera (one of the best with Orlando Mercuri imho as they only made high end frames) for a few years (crap setup pic: http://s22.postimg.org/ehjk7fo1d/dsc00603_2a86a17.jpg)

and my gf bought a master frame when she visited last year (has the best "folk-decor" on it):

i can ask around on the local forum if anyone has a relative or friend in chile to try and get one frame (why do you want a chilean frame specifically?)

  • JW, that shade of blue with the chrome is too much!!!! super want!

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-YpfopVNI1o4/T8DoIb2GyII/AAAAAAAAAEQ/ACY4zwAvBX4/s640/Fixie+Vintage+Born+In+Garage+Santiago+Oliver+.jpg Needs dar leather bar wrap tho.

Looks nice! Did a bit of googling and they got some nice work on their facebook. The old school downtube decals look sick, feeling the type on a couple of them. The bent dt ones look fun too!

No me gusta que estan vendiendo cosas de el demonio blb, pero que le vas hacer. Nadamas esta apareciendo las bicis de piñon fijo por aya y con tiempo puede segiur evolucionando.
    Vamos Chile!!!

  • Postman Pat and his red and white van brought me these today, bought from the states and the seller was good enough to send as a gift so saved a few pennies too.

  • Looks great. Youre really putting the work in.
Out of interest, have you found a lockring that fits? I recently bought a bike with a pair of Zeus pista hubs that I've yet to find the right lockring for.

Finally got round to finding out the threading, Im pretty sure its italian threaded as I have a lockring that works on the miche primatos and the Zeus hubs.

Thanks for this (and your PM). I'm now also in the market for an italian threaded lockring.

  • Do do doooooo

You have a PM inbound H.

  • Been a good day, a few things entered the postbox while I was out an about sorting a few things out. Zeus jersey from Luc from marktplaats, real nice guy with a passion for Zeus too. Good rep for him if anyone sees his ads on there.
Rouleur was from ebay in pretty good second hand condition, with the better cover photo.
Some donut bid me up on ebay for the catalogue, he must of not realised I was going to win one way or another. Will be scanning it at some point over christmas, so If anyone knows of a good cheap printing service I might get some copies made for anyone on here at cost if theres some interest?

  • Scan it, turn into pdf.

  • Nice to see you were able to buy that jersey from Marktplaats!

  • interested? :) 48t, pista. bolts too (saw that you are missing one in the other thread so i asked around)

  • Wasup y'all,
A few updates from the past couple weeks.

    • Cinelli stem is french sized at 22mm, and not sure if the forks are same sized but has a very small amount of play when inserted, need to get the steerer measured at some point soon.

    • Primed the hub holes in white, maybe go for spain colours or black depending on the the colours. Also got my hands on a 36h Akront rim, it has the grooves on the side with some brake residue but im pretty sure they came like that for both road and track.

    • Cranks are bsc and the zeus pedals I have are french threaded so had to buy some nice 2000 pedals to match the cranks. Quite expensive but took it out of the christmas funds I had saved up, and I'd like to think they are worth it!

    • Won an near new Zeus Italian bb for £15gbp posted from aus, only really bought it because it was was with the box etc. and for that price I'm not complaining.

    • Also bought this fork crown for the shelf, don't even have a road bike but I like the design and for a bit less than £20 prob not a bad buy!

Gonna be a slow new year for this project as im trying to save up for a nice holiday but will keep you guys updated on the progress.

Hope you had a good christmas and have a prosperous new year!

  • Splendid stuff. Not spotted this thread before, excellent work look forward to seeing how it progresses.

I too am a bit of a Zeus fan, I use some faux-track pedals (normal criterium pedals with the cages chopped of and neatly shaped!)

I used to have some rather nice track hubs - too nice for a cretin like me so I sold them to someone more deserving.

Somewhere knocking about on my computer I have a 70's catalogue scan that giurgiu emailed me last year If you don't have one I'll see if I can dig it out and get it to you.

Also, if you're in the market for 119mm BCD chainrings, I put one on ebay last week (54T)
-apologies for commercial thread hijacking, but I thought it was sufficiently relevant and still going cheep that someone might be interested!

  • Hey,

    great thread..

Here is my Zeus Pista Project: LINK
It's quite similar to yours.. my aim was to get a complete Zeus or at least a full spanish build.

    until now i have

    • Zeus Pista Frame 53 c-c
    • Zeus Seatpost (i dont know which group it is)
    • Zeus Pista Cranck
    • Zeus Pista BB
    • Zeus Pedals (i am not sure if its Pista though)
    • Zeus Headset (i think its 2000??)
    • Arius Pista Saddle

    i am still looking for

    • Zeus Pista hubs/wheels
    • Stem / Handlebar
    • i tried to to some decals myself (vectorizing based on JPG-pictures).. i am not sure which type has been used on thos frames..i dont even know which year it has been built-..

    best regards from Berlin,

    Peter

  • RVL - Thanks. Ive been quite slow recently, only just really starting to gather a few other parts. Spent way too much money over christmas and have other priorities atm too. Zeus hubs look great, especially with the coloured insides. Shame you had to part with them!
I see that on ebay but saw they are the road versions otherwise I would've taken it. I've got this weird feeling that road chainrings aren't as round as the track ones. The one Zeus road one that I have doesn't sit perfect on the spiders and don't really know why. Im a bit odd when It comes to things like that. If you have any track stuff then let me know.
