  • SOLD ON THE 16/1

For sale is a Saffron Frameworks credit card/light tourer, designed for use with a Carradiace-style saddlebag support. It's one of my personal bikes. The frame has only done a couple of hundred miles which has resulted in a few minor cosmetic markets on the paint. Reason for selling is it is not really ridden and the money will be going towards more frame building equipment.

For sale is the frame and fork complete with a Campag headset. New price is £550, and i am selling it with a 10 year guarantee.

**I have just dropped the price from £685 to £550. This is what the paint alone cost me!

    Full specification is:

    Columbus SL tube set
    1 inch steerer
    Hand carved/shaped arrowhead lugs
    Paris-Brest fork crown
Polished Llewellyn dropouts front and rear
    Bosses for mudguards
    English threaded BB shell
    Effective top tube 573mm
    Seat tube length 598mm
    Head tube length 160mm
    Steerer tube length 244mm
    Chain stay length 424mm
    Horizontal top tube
    Seat tube angle 71.9
    Head tube angle 72
    45mm rake in the forks
Built for longer reach brake calipers for good mudguard clearance
Paint: pearl black /pearl white and a dark gunmetal grey

Please contact me on matthew@saffronframeworks.com if you're interested. Inspection of the frame is available at my workshop (central London), get in touch to arrange a suitable time.

  • Beautiful.

  • this is awesome and a great price, love the lugs, matthew is a top bloke met him at a bike show last year.....would take this if it was my size!

  • Lovely details! The ends and crown in particular.

  • Beautiful and precisely my size ):

  • Ditto. Must resist.

  • Looked at this earlier today.

Had I not bought something on e-bay over breakfast, would have ripped your arm off. Might come and have a look anyway, as you are local to work.

In the meantime, have a bump.

  • Lovely bit of kit.

Absolutely stunning. If it was a 55 I'd have it. Someone buy this

  • My size, but just finished something similar. Very nice, looked at pictures of this build for ideas when I was shopping a couple of months back.

Should I get her out and ready for your inspection?

Feel free to pop in to have a look, just let me know before you decide to come

  • Thank you all for the bumps and kind words

  • Go for it Jingle Jangle. You know it makes sense, and there has to be some detritus in that shed of yours to fund it... GLWS Matthew

Which frame did you go with?

  • I met Jake at your shop and talked to him about building me something, but in the end I found a second hand Roberts audax compact in 853 pro team in my size. The savings were too big to resist, and the frame was near new. There are some pictures and a projects thread here if you want to see

I still sorta regret not having something built for me, but maybe next time. I really liked the frame you are selling here. Maybe Jingle Jangle will buy it and hold it for me for later ....

btw liking that stainless and blue frame you have on the go now...

  • Should I get her out and ready for your inspection?

Sadly the frowny face at the end of my post represents my lack of available funds...

The frame and fork new would be around the £1800+ mark, it has hardly been ridden

  • Saw this being built up today. Pure porn.

  • So it finally sold? Whew. Absolute bargain.
