Yeah I know, not sure whether it's stretched, or just worked its way loose. Anybody had luck with tensioners?

I have some here somewhere. Had them on the Bowery, they were great. Takes a little longer to get the wheel off (really not that long) but how often will you be doing that
-

Hmm, might consider it in the new year then.

Experimenting with some better shots and this is the best of the bunch but still not totally in focus - I wish I didn't have such a comically small tripod, would be so much easier if I could see through my camera without laying on the floor!
Also black cranks c/o Rikki and new VeloSolo chainring, with 17t cog being shipped tomorrow, hopefully.

Looking boss. Loved my Dolan. It was a pure, souless speed machine!

And the complete other end of the spectrum....The Holdsworth lives!
It's going to be my first proper beater - ridiculous front wheel, 35c CX-style gumwalls, tiny gearing, flat bars, 'normal' pedals, big comfy saddle - a total parts bin build. Collecting the rear wheel from laurenced on Sunday, then just hoping for snow!

Needs mudguards and a rack.
-
• #760
Hmm true, I was thinking about a front rack. I've got the clip on "dirt monkey" I use as a guard on the Dolan, which will have to do for now.
-
• #761
Looking good, thinking of building the Raleigh up the same way. The CNC is now in hybrid guise, need to get some guards though
-
• #762
I think I'm more excited about getting it finished than I realistically should be...

I still really want this

I was wondering if they were white tyres when I briefly saw you the other day!
-
• #766
It's still for sale! Sell your relatives!
Ja, they're Pasela TGs. I think they're supposed to be whitewall and ivory tread, but they're filthy anyway.

Laurenced's old wheel was the final piece of the puzzle - so the Holdsbeater is complete!
It's good fun - skids sound monstrous - but bloody clips and straps ripped my cycling shoes on the first outing, and felt awful anyway, so they got binned in favour for a pair of partly broken SPDs.

Looks good.
-
• #769
That looks nicer than my only bike does
-
• #771
Duly noted, and posted in, Tom.

• #772
Looks good pal, tyre went on ok then
-
• #773
Yeah it was perfect, I used a 28c tube in the 35c tyre though, which probably helped. Was nice meeting you earlier by the way.
-
• #774
That's pretty swish for a beater!
