Edscoble, why would I be racist for what I just said? I thought that you would know rather well the usual difference between Taiwanese and Chinese working conditions which is normally reflected in the costs and quality.

I think the trolling has got old, and says less about the quality of Foffa's products and far more about the vicious spitefulness, naivety and persistent trolling of a minority of people on here.
And for worse, it ceased to even be funny a very long time ago.
No-one is going to stop you guys trolling (except Dani if he wants to pursue a defamation case, but that's unlikely), but it's tiresome and speaks volumes about the trolls and far less about Foffa bikes.

Dani, I dont think you will ever improve the situation by responding to those kinds of comments. As you keep saying, it's all irellevant if people have not actually tried your products. Quibbling over what can be got where for how much, who can get what cheaper, is really just posturing on the part of the usual shit stirrers. I wouldn't bother responding if I were you. You always seem to come back with a reasonable, measured reponse at first, then get dragged back into the same petty arguments.

More importantly, do you have any amusing stories about not getting to the toilet on time?

If you have so much to say publicly about how poor our parts are then I suggest you buy a set from us and then you ll be in a position to tell everyone what the facts are.
Don't need to , I've ridden one of your bikes , it handled like a HGV and felt poor quality to say the least (the bits that hadn't been replaced yet felt crap just to clarify)
And edscoble, JamesSW and privatepatterson, the factory that makes our wheels is in Taiwan and said they worked for H+Son in the past as well, but actually on this one you might be right, since I just did some research and H+Son are actually made in China
Regardless of where H+son are made chances are H+son approach a manufacturer and work with them to built their product rather than buying someone that you can sell for £130 and make a profit on , there's a million miles of quality between your products and H+son's so everytime you come out with stuff like that you just make it clearer why you and your company are not respected by anyone

William1984, you are right, I keep having hope in people's common sense but after reading some of the responses here it is obvious that even after our shop will be closed and we ll only offer bikes of the same level as Charge at £100 less, people will still find something to troll about.
And JamesSW you might have ridden an early version of the Ciao (since it had just come out when we did the Sky Ride event) which is only one of the many products we offer, this doesnt mean that all our bikes are poor. It amazes me how easy is for some to generalise accusations so easily.
Also you keep referring to H+son, but what do you know about how we approach our manufacturers and work with them?
On what grounds do you base your 'there's a million miles of quality between our products and H+son's' comment when you have not even ridden or seen our wheels? Do buy some and try them hard and you ll either change your mind (which is very likely considering we have not had one complaint after selling over 500 of these in the last few years) or at least will be in the position to make these defamatory accusations. -

I think the point JamesSW is trying to make is that H+son design their rims from scratch rather than just picking them out of a catalogue. While I'm sure your rims are good for the money, they're just not in the same league as H+son.

Dani, you need to stop seeking approval from this community because you ain't gonna get it. And here's why: You contribute fuck all to cycling and yet you expect to make a profit from it. And people find that unpalatable.
And when you don't contribute, when you don't do anything new, your products have very limited appeal, so you can only make money by selling them to people who don't know any better. This is also unpalatable.
You're not the only one who does this. In fact, every company does this to some extent, but this is literally the only thing you do. This is your entire business model. And it's shit. Really shit. Well done on selling those two 3k bikes by the way, that's two people who could be riding BMCs that are now riding Foff-pipe. You must be very proud.
You seem completely confounded that you come off unfavourably when compared to someone like H Plus Son, but H Plus Son actually contributes something. They sponsor riders, their designs are innovative and their quality is exceptional. They didn't reinvent the wheel, but they stepped up with a strong product when there were few decent alternatives. And now they're a respected brand that pulls in decent money. That's how it's supposed to work. Can you not see the difference between this and Foffa trundling up four years after the fact saying 'I do a cheap version of that, where's my money?'
We're not buying it.
And the thing is, if you were up front about what you do, admitted that you make a inferior product to exploit a market boom, then you might be alright. But instead, you come on here as if you're a cyclist, an actual bike enthusiast, and you ask us to salute your shitty BSOs, as if you've done anything that Create weren't doing half a decade ago. I sometimes wonder why you do it. Maybe it's a matter of principal for you? Or maybe, just maybe, it has something to do with that fourth result on Google...

This is clearly a thread which will never get to an end so this is my last post on the matter.
Chris Borneo, the prices for our wheel sets are not the same as H+Son so clearly we are not trying to put ourselves at the same league, however it amazes me how some people can still believe the level of 'innovation' that can be applied to a RIM, make it twice as expensive as ours and still get their respect while our brand is still getting slagged off. Well guess what, the quality of our wheels is exceptional too (isn't it strange that everyone that keeps trolling about us has not even seen or ridden one of our wheels?) and we have not picked them out of a catalogue but have selected and designed each component carefully. So the same old problem here is that people make a lot of assumptions without actually knowing what they are talking about.
And Tibbly, I am not asking the approval from this community (which many people would doubt it can even be called one), I am simply protecting our brand from some of the defamatory accusations that have been made here, since this still appears in the first page of Google so I have every right to educate people of the facts, which some of you keep ignoring.
Everyone working here is very passionate about cycling and we are not here to exploit a market boom, but to make a living doing something that we like.
We have worked very hard to get to where we are today, we have admitted we had a few issues in the beginnings (like every other start-up company) and have rectified each one of them in the last 5 years.
The closing down of the shop and the phasing out of our bespoke bikes marks a big step for us. We ll be able to expand our range based on a lot of feedback we received from many industry experts in the last few years. We ll be able to improve the quality further and make our prices a lot more competitive, and I will keep checking this thread to see what some of you will have to say on the new model in the next 12 months or so.
All the best

...it amazes me how some people can still believe the level of 'innovation' that can be applied to a RIM...
More innovation in one rim, than your entire brand.

• #2565
By selected you mean "picked rim, spokes and hub" and by designed you mean "chose white". Designing something properly would be like velocity's new Nobs polo rim that has extra thick sidewall to prevent them getting dented by idiots with mallets.

LFGSS is a community and a very good one,its done more for cycling, than the FOFFA brand could ever hope to do
Dani maybe you should build a forum from the 1000's of FOFFA satisfied clients

I can tell you now. I spent 3 months on ebay before finding a really good value steel bike with pretty much full dura ace components. I then serviced it myself to a decent standard. Your new bikes are not as good value as the the second hand one I spent months sourcing and used my time and skills to get running nice. All your customers are complete idiots for not spending hours and hours on ebay and servicing their second hand bikes themselves.
Sarcasm, yo.

I'm not arsed about the bikes, they're so-so and fine if that's what you're after, the bit that is irritating is the claims of full custom this and that, they are not custom bikes. You can choose the colour of your fiat 500 before you order it and a bunch of different specs for wheels and whatever but they ain't a custom built car, you just have some options for parts and colourways. You were also paying well over the odds for what you got, but it sounds like they will at least be slightly better priced now.

• #2569
^ thats what annoys me too.
"bespoke" and "custom" is not the same thing as "colour options"

• #2570
Love them new FIAT 500's,my neighbour has one with the low profile wheels......guess what colour it is ..BABY blue or as it used to be called powder blue

I'd like to think my rims were made by whomever it was that was rocking the Aphex t-shirt. Hypnotic video.
