had a rear wobble this morning on a greasy looking cold road when I gave it beans when pulling away and leaning to right slightly and the rear wheel had to catch up - woke me up and made me concentrate though!!
That's the best thing about this time of year, lighting up the rear tyre at every set of traffic lights!
Has anybody tried transporting their bicycle on the back of their motorbike,
I need to take my motorbike in for a service and don't fancy getting the bus back. have seen these online

As a non car owner I've often thought about fitting a bike rack to my motorbikes but seems pointless. I mean, what you going to do with your motorbike kit while you cycle and vice versa. Also, my current bike is wheely happy enough as it, sligning my bicycle out the back like that seems like a good way to avoid any wear to my front tyre.

That Rok straps arrangement looks amazing. Will try something similar in the summer.

Ah - a fellow 950SM owner!
Where do you get it serviced?
I've been using the KTM centre since Braken shut - bit pricey and a long way out of town - do you have any recommendations?

I'm wondering why I still own my Triumph and thinking of selling it.
Why do I?
Does anyone want to buy a black 2006 Triumph Thruxton in good nick with loud pipes, flyscreen, bar-end mirrors, alarm and a full service history? -

Took it to inmoto in Croydon (i think this is the KTM Centre), £160 for a normal service, I bought the bike from there the other year but they seem pretty good.
They have a number of shops there, KTM, Aprilla, Ducati, Kawasaki
http://www.inmoto.com/You may have seen them on you tube when some kids try to help themselves to their bikes

next service is for the valve clearance they reckon £600 quid :-(

Boom! Many pieces, now mostly in little boxes awaiting re-assembly.
On the down side, compression was off, I whipped the head off and there's too much piston to bore clearance. Need a re-bore - $300 including new piston, pin, little-end bearing etc. Groan. Serves me right for not taking my compression tester along when I bought it.Also bad, there's a big ding in the rear rim I didn't notice (twat) that I'll likely bury my head in the sand about. Also, all the cables are fubar which might explain...
...good news - new taper rollers in the headset in fine fettle (when I eventually got it undone,) brakes are nearly new and just need a good clean. (probably explained by shot cables.)....aaaaand I stuck the verniers on the piston and it's had a 420 big bore kit fitted! More power! just what I need.....
Frame and cylinder hopefully going off to the powder coaters and machine shop this week.
I still need to:
- Religiously clean everything but the frame and swingarm.
- Replace any knackered bolts / wiring / hoses.
- order new chain / sprockets / control cables, rear mudguard and air filter.
- decide whether I'm painting some or all of the engine. (probably not - maybe the clutch and gen cover)
- decide whether I want a flashy new spanny...
- register it.
Mid-feb to finish? .....maybe....
- Religiously clean everything but the frame and swingarm.

That ding should be get out able, worth while to chat to a motorcross place?

Might try and gently massage it with a lead mallet and then see if it needs truing. Otherwise, fuck it. What's bouncy suspension for anyways?

What is the rim made of?
Use a mousse or balls and don't worry about it.

Pacsafe's are wicked good. Used them touring many times, so useful as a place to secure you're helmets etc when visiting a POI and peace of mind when parked up that your shit isn't gonna be opportunistically nicked. Pictured here on my triumph fitted under the rack and holding my tent, sleeping bag and mattress. And yeah, I've got sat nav like the old man I am (it's awesome).

its a tank! it doesn't need to go around anything!
It either pushes it out of the way or goes over it.
Get it serviced somewhere near a Boris bike stand if you're going Indy. Get a courtesy bike if you're going main dealer.
