go with tubulars, they're absolutely great!
and the bike is pretty nice -

i only use tubulars on my road bike and i like them.
This bike will probably have two set of wheels. I'm thinking about having one with tubulars -

nice frame, alu or steel?

Easton scandium aluminium frame and steel forks

i'm really enjoying to ride it with the compact handlebars
still waiting for my front wheel...
than maybe i'll try some tubular wheelset (low rims) -

front wheel now laced with a shimano dura-ace hub

it´s getting nice as almost all of your bikes.
i prefer those you have made with lugs. -

the main idea of this one was not to make a good looking bike.
The idea was to make a stiff and tight frame
...and also for me to test some thoughts i had about "track geo"but even than i like the look of it (i'll have to paint it again) and i'm loving ridding with it on the road (with this compact handlebar). Soon i'll test it in Sangalhos and there i'll set it with the other handlebar and stem

when i look to your last bikes i feel the wind in my hears even seated at the desk!! your bikes ask for speed rides men!! lovely!

If the idea was to build a 'stiff and tight' frame, why use a quill stem and steel fork..?

if the idea was to test a frame geo (some thoughts that i had) i thought that the better way to find an answer was to test it with the same components than the other one i had.
nothing more simple than that ;-)

the bike of the last photos has a much diferent geo than the "batbike"?
-
• #14
yeah! very very very different
this one has a much higher BB and more vertical headtube and seatube. It also has a longer toptube but shorter "axle to axle" distance -

I can't help it but every time I read the title of this thread I do it in a Arnold Schwarzenegger accent.

eh eh eh eh! ;-)
hi!
8 months ago i started to think about a bike with a higher BB and more vertical seatube and headtube. The idea was to have a bike to ride in "Sangalhos velodromo" and also for fast and shorter road rides. Usually i ride bikes with 54cm toptube but this one i had to think about a longer toptube... and i'm glad i did it
right now i'm trying to finish it (as i want it). Soon i'll share more details about the project.
here you can see it with borrowed wheels and saddle.
the ideia was to fit a compact road handlebar with the dura-ace stem but i had a few problems with that. I had to solve that problem with a cinelli stem. The dura-ace stem is a bit "fatter" and the compact handlebar does not pass the 26.0 clamp. The cinelli also has a 26.0 clamp but it works because it's more "slim".
right now i'm lacing a dura-ace front hub with the mavic MA rim (clincher).
I'm also thinking about a set of tubular wheels for the velodromo.
