I tried to go for a century ride to Maldon and back and got as far as Hog Hill before being advised to turn around by some roadies who'd stacked it on ice. So I did.
So my weekend ride was 40 miles, very slowly, from traffic light to traffic light through various London boroughs. Bit disappointing, but I suppose it's better than nothing.
