You'll be able to lean in more before you get pedal strike if you run spd instead of flats. That said, if you decide to stay with flats,with time you'll learn how much you can lean in. Used to get quite a lot of pedal strike when I initially switched to 175 cranks on the pomp but just adapted my game around it and it became a non issue.

quick way to turn around though, catch your back pedal for an instant 90 degree turn!

You try that and do a successful attempt when we play against each other. Other than that you are killing the court unnecessarily, I think that's technically a footdown as your feet would be touching the ground ;)
