More control with a front brake than brakeless fixie I'd say. Unless you're in a corner you can decelerate pretty much as quickly with a front brake as with two brakes.

That yellow thing belongs in here for several reasons. Throwing money at a bike doesn't make it good.

Cross top lever with tapes uncovered on the tops is anti. I'm also guessing the chainring is 3/32 with a 1/8 chain. It's not the end of the world, but it belongs in this thread IMO.

^this, SS with front brake only is daft, but I'd rather ride that than brakeless fixed. As it is I have 3 brakes (4 if you count jamming your foot against the tyre, 5 if you also count the chav-nicked-bike method of dragging your JB Sport trainers along the pavement).
