So i've seen the error of my ways and this build is now being re-borne as i think it needs to go back to a geared/mudgarded number. It's a good size for the Mrs and means she might actually want to come for a ride on a weekend after trading in the current 2 tonne specialised that she has. Plus it free's up space for me to build a track bike for the summer.
So far the plan is :
STI shifters (as she definitely won't want the down tube shifters)
Keeping the single front ring
Rear Casette
New (old) Cantilevers
Front and Rear Mech (torn between campag & dura ace)
Brooks Saddle
Leather tape
Mudguards
Front hub refurb
Am i missing anything here ? Also, could anyone give suggestions on campag vs shimano here ? I know it's really a personal thing, but i'm thinking ease of use for the mrs. In terms of adapters for the downshifters is that a simple thing to change ?
