Car appreciation... the aesthetics, the engineering, etc

I don't think there is a new car (that I could afford the repayments on) which would generate the enormous grin that my W124 does.

Quite. One to keep, now.
Was explaining to my ten year old this morning how a mint ten year old car like a 7 series is now worth 2 grand but cost 70 grand new, whereas a 70 grand house ten years ago, is now 'worth' multiples more.
