• Basically I need help on my next bike purchase. I got one of those shitty hackney cycles bikes and its already falling apart.

My budget is around £400. I was told that it'd be more cost effective to buy a complete bike say from evanscycles or whatever and then kit out a few of the parts that I needed, instead of building it all from scratch.

The perfect bike will pretty much look like this fuji:

    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuji/track-11-2013-track-bike-ec041915

But with both front and back breaks (goldfinger levers to add as much discreetness as possible), and riser handlebars which would be not ridiculously narrow but narrow enough and with a lot of rise for an upright riding position. Oh...and some bloody pedals!

I really like the frame shape and aesthetics of the fuji bike above; that thick and sleek look. And having a carbon fork really would be a plus as it smoothes out the ride significantly. I'd be riding it in the city on the road all the time not the track so would want it not to have TOO much of a stiff ride, comfortable enough on the streets.

I'd have it as a single speed not fixed. Also I need a ride that will brake quickly, I have found that in rain my stopping distance increases way too much, and tyres that are durable for the London roads so I don't get a puncture every bloody week!

Later on I might purchase a baddass caarboon wheel to make it more batmobilish. Sorry if I sound like a noob/hipster, just my mate directed me to these forums for help. Cheers.
