^^nah didn't mean it like that, just think its technically unfair on those who broke it on steel if its then broken by someone on a lighter, more aerodynamic bike.
That's progress. Should everyone be on 70s bikes? Should the Merckx record be disallowed because he used better steel than those who set the record 50 years before him? It makes no sense to set an arbitrary point in time for the record's equipment to be based on. It's just the UCI getting their knickers in a twist when people they deemed not pro (Obree) or whatever gained the record.
