We may well be able to run a session at Palmer Park, the only issue is availability as if you turn up with booking up the entire track and it's in use, then it's game over.
Booking the track isn't that expensive, don't know the exact current figure but last time I heard it was about £25/h

I was quoted more than twice that but it was a while ago so could have changed? Nevertheless, our 2hr session charge includes all fees for Wolverhampton.

Probably more recent than my figure. Being a civic amenity, I expect the council have pushed up prices to generate some revenue ITTET.

Yes, the AeroStick is a remarkable bit of kit. We may well be able to run a session at Palmer Park, the only issue is availability as if you turn up with booking up the entire track and it's in use, then it's game over. Same with a few places (eg Portsmouth) which is why we use Wolverhampton, we have a good setup there for track time
Ultra distance racing is always a good problem to solve - 10w improved aerodynamics will net you buckets of distance but if you lose comfort then it's back to square one, so there's a very important balance to be made
XavI'd be bringing my neighbourhood bike fitter with me. We've hit some limits with my position already (namely the aero pouch aka beer gut).
I think Wolverhampton is 2hr away versus 1hr for Reading but if there's issues with Reading or it's easier to get time at Wolverhampton then an extra hour in the car each way is neither here nor there.
The only thing would be the threat of sessions being rained off. England, do you even roof?

England, do you even roof?
Yes, but do you really want to test your 24h position indoors? The cornering loads will distort your idea of what's a viable position, I'd have thought.

It's about aero though. Aero and not driving for 4hrs to find the outdoor drome rained out. I'm not going to be able to tell if the resulting position is truly sustainable until I test it. Obviously Scherrit and I will have opinions about sustainability based on what we've tried before, but the proof is in the pudding, or something.

potentially silly question but how does one enter the Hounslow 100 mile TT on the 25th May?
-
• #5684
Post off an entry form and cheque off to the organiser

Amateurs. You can enter it online.

I always think of Ely when someone says Hardriders. I don't know why. It might be good it might be shit. Ride it and let us know.

Yeah was going to do that one, used to go to school there so nice to go back.
Northroad too, though I get back from Spain on the 22nd and it's on 23rd so will see.

There's a good hard riders 10 mile TT hosted by the Andover Wheelers that I will ride one day. Usually in March, I think, in and around Vernham Dean.

Nope, that's on a dual carriageway. This one includes the climb of Conholt Hill, if memory serves it's the P601a or something.

I'm a member of the EDCC and I've never done the Hardriders yet. Time to do it this year, I think.

Problem is, I'm scheduled to be in Switzerland that weekend. Maybe time for a flight reshuffle.
-
• #5696
Ah, well, I'd prefer to be in Switzerland. I'll do whatever you were doing so you can ride, deal?
-
• #5697
Not sure Cycliste would be happy with that. You never can tell though - got a photo?

You can do much harder riding in Switzerland, it's hillier.

I've got lots of photos, what sort would your prefer? My specialty is beer so I'd suggest one of those.

With Cycliste, beer would be a very good start.
