They tend to go for around £450-500 a pair on eBay, maybe a tiny bit more with flightcases.

Any suggestions for a DAB radio, ~£100? Something for the kitchen

Tivoli Audio DAB radios are very good, CEX sell them for around £75 which is a bargain. The Pure Evoke Flow is also excellent, has internet radio and can sometimes be found for £100.

Can anyone advise me on buying an inexpensive turntable? I've had one of these for years http://www.vinylengine.com/library/sony/ps-t22.shtml, which I'm aware is not particularly great (but does look quite nice). But the speed it plays at started to wobble slightly which means I've not really bothered listening to vinyl for the last year or so.
I did some reading online about repairing it and concluded it probably wasn't worth the effort.
Anyway, none of that is really important. Can anyone suggest a reasonable, replacement bearing in mind I'd like to spend under £100 (ideally under £50). Happy to buy something older off ebay rather than new if I can get something reasonably reliable.
Sorry, this is all a bit vague and lazy.... I know I should probably read through a load of hi-fi forums but I just don't have the energy... -

Yep, look out for a Rega Planar, Pro-ject or a Lenco GL75 (although this is more of a tinkerers turntable)

Cheers, will do some ebay searching. Though from a quick look they're looking somewhat over my budget.
Definitely not a tinkerer these days unfortunately. With an 8 month old baby I can barely find the time to do basic bike maintenance...

Has anyone got an old 'non working' amplifier that they want rid off. After anything really, simple design like an Arcam, NAD or Marantz. I am only interested in the chasis.
Got various watchlist entries on ebay, but the main problem seems to be 'collection' only and the majority are out of London.
Will consider anything, providing that it is in good condition

I have a Bush MTT1. Very cheap and cheerful circa £50 by decent sound quality.

Talking of my turntable...
I have a very newbie type question. My turntable has a buIlt in preamp. I've been given a new amp but this also has a built in preamp. So I've got massive volume and distortion. Is there any way round this other than changing either turntable or amp?

Plug the deck into an aux/ tape/ radio input NOT the phono one.

Plug the turntable into a non-phono input on the amplifier such as the AUX.
On another note. I have a Sansui AU-D33 amplifier which I've been using happily for a few years now. My one issue with it is that the volume pot is a bit scratchy and that sometimes (especially soon after powering up) the left or right channels sometimes dropout. I was told that the two issues were one and the same and that cleaning the pot would probably solve both. Today I cleaned the pot with Servisol and the scratching is gone but I've had a few dropouts on the left channel. Any ideas what this could be? I've ensured that all the connections are sound following having the case off for the clean.
Just for music only. Listening, no production.
