• It's damn easy, I just forward two example to a friend who's looking for it on here.

  • Any good off the peg tarck bikes right now? 58ish size.

Would get dolan pre cursa but not sure on lead time.

  • You pretty much said it, give Dolan a call if you're worried about lead time?

The other option is the Genesis Madison which is £550.

  • Just realised that'd mean you get a matching bike, fancy that.

  • Yeah tried calling no answer. SO try again tomorrow.

Not tark enough for him the madison.

  • anyone know of dropped bar, disc brake. space for 700*28 tyres with mudgaurds, racks eyelets etc but still reasonably sharp geometry. i dont want it to weigh to much, theirs loads of geared options starting to appear now but nothing fixed i can find. thanks

  • Yes, On-one Pompino.

  • pompetamine

  • That's on sale in evans at the moment too.

  • Looked at genesis just seems to weigh a lot was trying to keep it little bit lighter.thanks for info though.

  • Looked at on one aswel and it's same weight.shame no one makes an sly option.thanks

    Weight doesn't matter.

Steel and disc is always going to be heavy, unless you spend fucktoad over it.

  • Guess ur right with that.extra training aswel!I'm guessing from what . Have read the genesus is the better bike?

  • ^ will not be clicking

  • heavy bikes aren't extra training iirc - you just go slower for the equivalent amount of watts. happy to be corrected tho, cos my winter bike is heavy (steel)

  • Anyone ridden one of the road bikes from Eastway?
Looking at one in the end of year reduction but yet to take it out for a ride. What is the general consensus?

The weight difference largely depend on you, the most noticeable tend to be the tyres/wheels being the biggest factor.

  • In layman's term, I'm calling you a fat fatty fatties.

  • Basically I need help on my next bike purchase. I got one of those shitty hackney cycles bikes and its already falling apart.

My budget is around £400. I was told that it'd be more cost effective to buy a complete bike say from evanscycles or whatever and then kit out a few of the parts that I needed, instead of building it all from scratch.

The perfect bike will pretty much look like this fuji:

    http://www.evanscycles.com/products/fuji/track-11-2013-track-bike-ec041915

But with both front and back breaks (goldfinger levers to add as much discreetness as possible), and riser handlebars which would be not ridiculously narrow but narrow enough and with a lot of rise for an upright riding position. Oh...and some bloody pedals!

I really like the frame shape and aesthetics of the fuji bike above; that thick and sleek look. And having a carbon fork really would be a plus as it smoothes out the ride significantly. I'd be riding it in the city on the road all the time not the track so would want it not to have TOO much of a stiff ride, comfortable enough on the streets.

I'd have it as a single speed not fixed. Also I need a ride that will brake quickly, I have found that in rain my stopping distance increases way too much, and tyres that are durable for the London roads so I don't get a puncture every bloody week!

Later on I might purchase a baddass caarboon wheel to make it more batmobilish. Sorry if I sound like a noob/hipster, just my mate directed me to these forums for help. Cheers.

  • Best advice is to use the forum search for the term "OTP" and prepare to do some reading. There are threads on pedals, lights, brakes, tyres, all kinds of stuff. Start there.

    He was spot on.
You might like this thread (all 500+ pages) for inspiration: http://www.lfgss.com/thread77855.html

Check the 'for sale' section on here. Keep your eye on it....
for example, this frame is up for £260 right now:
    http://www.lfgss.com/thread119837.html
and track bits come up here regularly much cheaper than you'll buy new.

If you are looking for something in particular, like it sounds you are, you can create a wanted ad on here too:

The needs you list seem to point to something sturdier than a carbon track, like a steel frame, also I'm not sure if that Fuji is drilled to take a brake. A serious lock and brakes are important if you go the Fuji route I'd say. In London definitely. Welcome to the forum anyhow.

  • Hi guys, first things first I hope I've posted this in the right section and also I did do a search first but couldn't find what I wanted.

Moving on, basically I've decided I want to get a new bike and can't decide on which model to go for, so if you could help me out i'd really appreciate it.

So I'm getting a fixie / track bike to for road use; fitness and commuting.
The two models I've been looking at are the dolan pre cursa and the felt tk3.
Id be happy to spend some money after upgrading parts bit by bit, like carbon forks, better wheels and crank and so fourth.

If you guys could give me some advice and let me know which is the better choice, Id really appreciate it.

A Dolan like this: Clicky clicky

    And the felt: Clicky clicky

    Thanks in advance :)

Oh, also I've looked a the specialized langster and after some research the dolan seems to come out on top.

Someone also recommened buying THIS and then spending money on parts bit by bit but the dolan seems like a better option?

  • Don't know anything about the clicky clicky but I like the sound of it.

    PS buy the Dolan
