  • Thats really shit man, especially with the wait and the quality...

Didn't he ordered it in August? i.e. 4 months ago?

  • Gotta says I'm impressed the rider of that Ingria managed to hide the poor quality very well this far in.

  • currently the only response i got was them asking whether or not the box was damaged when i got it (it wasn't, it looks better than the frame), allegedly the paint was perfect when they shipped it. they pretty much ignored everything i said about the welding.

I would be demanding a full refund. The frame doesn't even look safe to ride.
If you don't get any joy from them I would be posting those photos around as many relevant sites as possible.

  • how did you pay for the frame?
If thru PayPal then you should get in contact with them
    if Ingria ignores the problem

  • I'd pop into a decent LBS and ask them for their opinion on the welds. If they reckon they could be dangerous as well as ugly, I'd ask them to put that in writing and demand a refund.

    Also make this go viral.

Then get a frame from someone else. If this goes viral you might find other frame makers happy to accomodate your needs.

  • since december is almost up, that would be 5 months. i think i paid in april tho, maybe june. the point is they said it would only take 4-6 weeks.

Ah, was confused to why you said almost one year.

Follow Jezston's advice of taking it to a reputable LBS, and then buy a Dolan Precursa that actually resemblance an actual frame.

  • Better still, take it to a reputable frame builder.

  • I imagine if they shipped it with those welds that they really couldn't give a shit at all. I doubt you'll get a refund but worth approaching them before posting pictures all over the Internet. If it does come to that though pedalroom is probably the place to start. As they seem to post a few of their builds on there.

  • The Ingra does have some ugly welds, but i really can't see anything in those pictures that would suggest it isn't safe to ride. It is a shame about the quality of the finish though, it really is poor for the amount they charge.

  • Hi!
Ingria is produced in my city, St. Petersburg, and I have seen many of them here.
All I can say it's realy young frame maker and of cource they have some "youth problems", but still so far I havn't seen any broken one.
I ride on track in winter and we have guy, 90+ killograms, riding Ingria very hard ;) still no problems!

I have seen prototype's, first commercial models and frame evolution to latest one's...
The weld's and construction you have on your frame are much more pretty than they were at the beginning.
You can check pictures you've posted at this thread at the time you ordered frame, and with closer look you will see "THE WELDING"!

Anyway, it's all up to you and the seller to make an agreement, but I suggest you to decide with cool head. Just give it a chance, and try it on the street ;)
Such long shipping time may anyone make MAAAAD!!! :)

    Best regards!

  • ... So because it's a young frame builder that makes it okay? 'Youth problems'... Sorry WHAT!? I think he's dealing with it pretty cool as it is to be honest. But I think the ingra frame builder needs more practise before he start's charging x amount for any frame.

  • A lots more practise, considering framebuilder often start out cheap before hiking their price up to the market's actual worth.

  • Sorry my english is not good enough to express my thoughts correctly. In Russian we have a proverb that everything has it's own chid illnesses.

Anyway I'm not talking about the price.
Only buyer should decide if it worth the price, or not, not me or you.
I'm just telling that in my opinion he shouldn't be worried about safety, it's reliable enough.

  • The issue is that the price does not reflect the quality, of which a Dolan Precursa is pretty smooth in comparison, especially from a framebuilder who was vague about their own geometry.

  • Actually not, I just know the guy who sell this frames, but I never seen THE WELDER!

I'm just a bit ashamed with this sittuation, concerning this is frame from my native city.
It's not a serial production and 100% handmade, so i think export frames should be made perfectly.

I would never pay 500 Euro for newmade frame. As I wouldn't pay 1k$ + for LOW frame and many others, for me all they are overpriced.
Personally I preffer old steel and alluminium frames ;)

Btw, Dolan is made in china with robot welding, and it deffinately smoother.

  • So you're the owner of that 'dale!

  • Mielec frames also used to be crap regarding many aspects. Most importantly - geometry was different from what you ordered and general build quality and details sucked dick big time (headset, seatpost, BB dimensions).
friend of mine ordered brown, non integrated headset track frame with standard welds and received raw, integrated seatpost, integrated headset, polished welds mtb frame. they messed up parcels :D
but it was reflected in mielec price.
pictured ingria frame is totally fucked up and there's no excuse for charging such money by saying 'youth problems'.

    jebane uszlopki

  • Least the Mielec frame reflect the price better.

  • Btw, Dolan is made in china with robot welding, and it deffinately smoother.

    Base on what?

  • 'Teething problems' I think is the translation needed here.

For £500+ you shouldn't have to expect teething problems.

  • So you're the owner of that 'dale!

    that?
    :)
Ye red one is mine. I dreamed about it for 2 years, before I got a chance to buy repainted frame from US.
I also tried to buy one here on lfgss, but the seller was trying to gangbang me ;)

Seen one Melec, liked how it looked from the far distance! :)

  • Base on what?

    Aaaahmm...
Based on what I have seen.
Dolan welding is smoother that the one on Ingria.

'Teething problems' I think is the translation needed here.

    Right! :)

For £500+ you shouldn't have to expect teething problems.

    Totally agree!

  • You've been to China and seen it was made with robot?

  • Why is everyone giving Tilky a hard time?
