He just started doing it while we were watching Cast Away. We let him tire himself out - not easy to listen to a cat fucking up your door while you sit there and let him - and he padded into the living room looking for attention. We're now giving him a play and a treat. Hopefully we can teach him that if he wants attention he should come and say hi, not destroy things.
