  • Thanks so much for this ride! As a waif/stray it was dead nice to have such a welcoming and enjoyable ride to wake up to. Thanks Digger!

  • Coming down with a virus, definitely a good thing I didn't attend actually!

  • Hoke, you got some good shots from today. Nice work man.
Can't wait for the next ride!

  • Fab photos you guys. Left my phone at home so really glad you took these!

Good you're OK Ian - definitely a major downside of quiet roads. Saw many rlj-ing car drivers on my way home.

Get well soon Ed. I missed you today!

Also thanks to Mrs Socks for suggesting we visit her at work. That coffee was amazing.

yeah nice coffee. I managed two double espressos (and a couple of cheeky snifters from my hip flask) which did the trick nicely!

  • You could join Southwark's if you head south again by 10am.

It's now a Dog & Bell Crew rather than a "Southwark" ride. Has been thus for the past few years. I'm still trying, so far without success, to get Southwark Cyclists involved in more social rides planning than Bruce Lynn's world-renowned Unhealthy Rides.

Yesterday's Mithrasmas Mass attracted a 100 or so. Brief report here. No photos from me, but others may have some to share.

  • ^ By that I meant it meets in Southwark, after Greenwich. Doesn't really matter who organises it does it?

  • @Digger, fine thanks see #127

@Chung, " " , bike only suffered scuffed bar tape - like the pics by the way

  • Glad you're relatively alright mate :)
    cheers too

  • Awwwwww youse guys, what a relaxed way to spend Xmas... Big forum love!

  • ^ By that I meant it meets in Southwark, after Greenwich. Doesn't really matter who organises it does it?

It doesn't matter, but it would be nice to see Southwark Cyclists under the post-Mouse regime more engaged in the social side of cycling advocacy. Eleanor is keen, but that's about it.

  • What a bunch of f'in hipsters!

Hope you had fun. I was there at 9:30. Wasn't intending to do the ride, but thought I'd say hello.

I seem to have a holiday beard, so I might have been able to fit in

    :)

  • Greetings folks,

First of all a very Happy New Year to each and every one...
I wanted to thank everyone who came out for this ride. It was one of the best in years.
Weather was kind to us. Comfort break and coffees laid on courtesy of the lovely Mrs Socks - it is people like you who keep this country going.... I cannot quite believe this but I am now able to say that I spent Christmas Day in a hotel in Shoreditch, well 30 mins anyway.
Ian - sorry to hear you had a tumble on the way back to Conker HQ - I hope you are now fine.
Many happy memories of this ride and others throughout 2013.
    Keep on riding folks.

    Peace and love,
    Tim

  • Here are a handful of poor photos...

There is no better way to start christmas day.

Although I am convinced there is more traffic on the roads each year it is still a minuscule amount compared to any other day of the year. Funniest moment for me was when that driver hooted at the group to barge his way past only to get to a red light 50 yards down the road. Must have been quite scary to find yourself surrounded by 30 (very) odd cyclists that you'd just tried to bully but I think we kept the barracking at a reasonably friendly level.
