If we don't qualify for the CL, I fully expect Suarez to leave. He's correct that he should be playing in the CL, and we could spend the money, and saved wages better than on one player, if we aren't competing at the top table.
Having an exit clause for the two Spanish teams makes sense, it sets the expectations for both parties.
