As I said before, It has nothing to do with the performance or functionality with regard to it being a replica.
You can have a Bontrager rim with Easton Decals
You can have a Zipp rim with Easton Decals
You can have a carbon rim with Easton DecalsThey will all be Easton Replica because they all look the same.
Or are you the only one who's going to say "oh, none of them are a replica..... exact copy...... because the functionality and performance is different."

Putting stickers on something doesn't make it a "replica", if anything, going by your definitions, it would make your wheels "fake".
I wouldn't refer to them as anything other than ebay carbon with easton stickers.
You can have a Bontrager rim with Easton Decals - that would be a mislabelled wheel
You can have a Zipp rim with Easton Decals - that would be a mislabelled wheel
You can have a carbon rim with Easton Decals - and that would be a mislabelled wheelNone of the above constitute a "replica"
I plan on putting these decals on my plastic wheels, what will that make them....?
....ebay carbon with some stickers. Much like yours.

Or are you the only one who's going to say "oh, none of them are a replica..... exact copy...... because the functionality and performance is different."
No, see the post above.
Also, the definition of copy you gave it can mean something that is identical, your wheels are not.

looks like you may need to find another forum now so you can warn people about this one where people didn't agree with you for a second time.
Careful you don't run out of forums....

^This
I honestly do not see how you can say that the wheels are the exact same, aka replicas, as the real thing, to put it this way, your advert with my comparisons to the real thing:
Easton EC90 Aero Replica Carbon 700c Tubular Wheels - £270 posted the real thing is about £900
- 50mm Full Carbon Aero Rim the real thing is 55mm deep, this is a very basic difference
You fail to mention rim width at all, as most now know, rim width plays a massive part and in willing to bet these are the narrower 20mm external rim width - Red Anodized Novatec Hubs with 8/9/10 Speed Shimano Freehub are you genuinely saying these are the exact replicas of Easton's echo hubs? They're not, they're good hubs but not replicas of the top of the range
- Red Anodized Spokes and Skewers we're just getting silly now, they're probably not the top of the range salon cx rays
- Vittoria Rally Competition Tubular Tyres fair play for including some tyres
- Rider Limit; 105kg easton's don't have one
- Barely used, carbon brake blocks included if required, cassette not included fair play for including some brake blocks
- 50mm Full Carbon Aero Rim the real thing is 55mm deep, this is a very basic difference

This is odd and i do need to visit SpecSavers but i cannot see the word 'Replica' in the title -
For Sale: Carbon Wheels, Mavic Ksyrium SL, Easton EA90 SLX
trager52Am i missing something?
Having read the ad, it would be possible for someone to miss the word Replica as it is placed within the ad -
Carbon Wheels, Mavic Ksyrium SL, Easton EA90 SLX
Easton EC90 Aero Replica Carbon 700c Tubular Wheels - £270 postedFor clarity, I would advertise it as 'Replica Wheelset - Easton blah, blah, blah' - it might not be intentional but it is not clear (to me). I have posted about the other wheels for sale - replicas too?

"If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."
If you did anything around here other than use the place as a fee-free Ebay, you'd know that selling something that isn't what it appears to be (without making that abundantly clear) is not the done thing: relying on semantics and Caveat Emptor isn't the way to treat your own.
Perhaps you should find a more gullible clientèle?
Sure we'll miss your incisive analysis, but at least we'll have the opportunity to stitch our sides up, you wag (I don't know what Louiee's problem was: my ROFLcopter is still circling the LOLcano)!
"If it looks like a cunt, swims like a cunt and quacks like a cunt, then you probably are a cunt."

Well in that case I'll just delete the thread.
Really not sure replica/bootleg items are doing much to help improve the marketplace quality or trust levels.
-
• #86
From the mods thread
Would be more appropriate to add "NOT EASTON carbon wheels" to it
I think we are agreed they are not replicas...
In what way are they replica?
Just fake items?
This
That's probably even better.
Well in that case I'll just delete the thread.
Really not sure replica/bootleg items are doing much to help improve the marketplace quality or trust levels.
Best go whinging elsewhere.

Very informative thread.
I now know for sure not to ever buy anything off of Mr. T.
Imagine the hassle of tryin to get a refund.
Thanx :)

Blaady hell, if you'd just put "ebay carbon wheels that I put easton stickers on" it would have saved 2 pages of lfgss forum bandwidth space.
-
• #91
Daz, they're REPLICAS ok?
damn.
-
• #92
In fact, are they even authentic Easton stickers? or are they fake too?
-

The mislabeled wheel response makes no sense, people put Easton Stickers on one of those rims to "replicate" what exactly? A mislabeled wheel? So you would look at a wheel without any knowledge and point out "oh that's a mislabeled wheel?"
My response to this thread was the sarcastic, stupid response from Bikeradar Moderators who were forcing me to write "Chinese Carbon Wheels" when they don't know the origin of manufacture. And then I get chucked off because I dish some sarcasm back to them. I was also selling Mavic Ksyrium which I then titled "French Aluminium Wheels". I get chucked off for that???
I have nothing to complain about it here because I'm told straight by Velocio and that's the end of the matter. No sarcasm, no accusations of deception, just straight forward direct to the point message which I appreciate.
I don't get where people are thinking a replica is the "exact same thing", you all see to be thinking along the lines of molecular structure.
Replica it's derived from paintings and small scale models.
With all this "exact" standard you're going by, that means every replica has to use the same paint, same materials, same moulds, same paintbrushes, same designers, same people, same everything who designed the real thing then to achieve a replica????????????????
I totally agree with Dazaa, the tediousness of this is beyond belief.
Anyway, I'm off to le Louvre to order my Mona Lisa replica - I need to make sure they get Leonardo Da Vinci back from the dead, make sure he uses the exact same paint and brushes and make sure he paints it on the exact same material and the exact same dimensions to make sure it an:
EXACT COPY!

Please answer my question.
In fact, are they even authentic Easton stickers? or are they fake too?
-
• #95
What's the relevance?
-
• #96
Velocio called them "just fake items" which does point to deception.
Also
Really not sure replica/bootleg items are doing much to help improve the marketplace quality or trust levels.
Your reading of his posts appears to be very self seving/ utterly in denial.
-
• #97
What's the relevance?
none at all, I do regret giving you rep yesterday for something that made me chuckle though, because it means I'm unable to neg you for the idiotic bollocks that you're spouting.
wheels with stickers are not fucking replicas, they are wheels with stickers.
-
• #98
He didn't accuse me in his message, he just said don't sell replica/bootleg items
-
• #99
Bootleg implies fraud! Are you really this confused?
Bootleg synonyms "illegal, illicit, unlawful, unauthorized, unsanctioned, unlicensed, unofficial, pirated"
-
• #100
I'm not selling illicit Alcohol or Music Records am I now?
Given there are definite performance benefits to certain wheels, yes.
