The mod in question sounds like a right bulb, but then it was on bike radar, so....

Just had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with VeloNutter
I advertised a set of carbon wheels with Easton decals on bikeradar and received sarcastic messages from "traffic wardens" "SloppySchleckonds and "amaferanga" saying shouldn't it be "generic carbon wheels with Easton Decals", Fake, counterfeit good are prohibited blah blah blah.
Then the listing gets taken down by Velonutter who said:
Sorry but you need to read the rules, it is against them to list items that are obvious fakes, your advert will be deleted, if you wish to relist the please do so without the stickers on and clearly advertised as Chinese Carbon wheels. Thank-you
Remove the stickers then it's fine, what planet is he on?
I then relisted the posting whereby I thanked the original "traffic wardens" and then said that I was told to put that they were "Chinese Carbon wheels" despite the fact they don't know the origin of manufacture. They're just complete guessing or assuming!!!!!!!!!
Then I got this nice message from VeloNutter:
Final warning cut out the sarcasm and knocking other members, if you don't like the rules then don't advertise on here. And any more insults to fellow members will result in your receiving a ban!
I receive a ban threat for calling mod type members "traffic wardens" LOL!
I then responded:
Look, you just told me what to put in my own wheels.
You don't know the origin of the wheels, so why are you telling me to put "Chinese Carbon Wheels"?
I did not write any members names in the posting.
Also I told the truth of what has happened.
So tell me what is exactly wrong or illegal? To which VeloNutter replied:
I said it all in my Warning, these wheels are advertised all the time on fleabay from China, I know because I bought a set un badged.
And you did mention members as we'll.
Read the rules or you will be banned , we don't need argumentative members on here!My response:
To clarify, I didn't mention members, there was numerical figures in the words which in legal terms means I didn't mention any members.
Also you can't instruct me to state they are "Chinese Carbon Wheels" when they are not.
They were made in Taiwan. No reply back, what a wally!
That's not argumentative, that's fact.
So "forcing" me to lie is unacceptable. -

Are they unbranded 'Asian' wheels or are they genuine?
If genuine, fuck them, fuck BR. They don't deserve your goods. If they're fake, get over it.
-
• #34
so you selling counterfeit goods?
-
• #35
I think putting numbers to represent letters in names is stretching the point a bit...

Whole BR place is a bad experience.
There is a post on here somewhere about a bloke zig zagging past fat b***** pushing their carbon bikes up hill (he's on an 80 odd inch fixed). Made me laugh my socks off. Try that on BR. You'll get tons of replies about how offended they are. I fell foul recently. Made me run straight back here, made my Christmas donation too!
Am I right in thinking BR is sort of shop front, business orientated type thing? Its very, ahem, Middle England........

Merry ChrismasBR would be my go-to place should I wish to append every post with a "wacky" quote used as a signature. Which I don't.

They are asian wheels with Easton Stickers, but it's pretty god damn obvious when I write the word REPLICA in the title. And also they are priced accordingly.
If I had put a price that of genuine wheels say £800 and stated that they are genuine then fine, I'm in the wrong. But I said replica and they are priced accordingly.
I agree nickyburnell, it's like the Mod's on there are in a class of their own.
I mean Velonutter was warning me to cut out the sarcasm, what a pr1ck?
It's like anything really, any bad press and people get a gagging order.

TBH it sounds like the mods are being pretty reasonable to me, and that you aren't.
To clarify, I didn't mention members, there was numerical figures in the words which in legal terms means I didn't mention any members.
I mean, seriously?
-
• #40
There's nothing wrong with that.
If they want to force me to write "Generic Chinese Wheels" when they aren't the origin of manufacture then that's unreasonable and that's the sarcastic comments I received from the beginning from the mods.
And then I eventually get kicked off and banned and apparently I'm not reasonable?

Taiwan is part of China
-

Oh, Sumo...
-
• #43
^^Not sure they'd agree with you on that.
It's complicated.
-
• #44
I think the BR response is very fair. You are selling fake shit and not every person is aware of the risks associated with these wheels. They are protecting their readership. I guess you're also only on there to sell stuff and make little or no other content based contribution to the forum?
-
• #45
LOL quite funny.
I do know that but it's state in it's own right. If you buy a bike from there what stamp does it have? Made in China or Made in Taiwan? It's the latter.
It's not the point or issue, the mods on bikeradar were forcing me to put that despite them not knowing the origin of manufacture.
Also the sarcastic thing I done afterwards was relist the posting and as I was also selling Mavic and genuine Eastons, I put instead:
French Aluminium Wheels
American Aluminium WheelsObviously Velonutter didn't see the funny side...

• #46
Maybe it's because you're a rocker
-
• #47
So, let me get this straight. You were selling fake Easton wheels without it being clear they were fake and got told off for it, so you responded with sarcasm towards those who called you out on it including one of the moderators?
-
• #48
Their house, their rules.
If you tried it here, you would probably be called a cunt and told to do one.
Pull your pants back up.

They are posted here.
All sounds like a storm in a teacup.

It's an understatement howard.
Anyway it's my experience with bikeradar, if you disagree then fine.
People understand the word replica. The posting is clear as day. The mods there are just up their own arses.
Same place as all the fucks.
