No, because HDMI, DVI, VGA, and DisplayPort do not carry keyboard and mouse signals and those cables/protocols also do not have the equivalent of focus() to steal the input.

You need a KVM switch.

Unfortunately DisplayPort KVM switches tend to be expensive.

And if you're already using a cheaper KVM switch for keyboard and mouse, then you really are stuck using the button on the monitor for switching video.
