• I rode past Calthorpe this morning and there was a cherry picker (basically a large crane-like device, originally designed for harvesting delicious cherries, now re-purposed to suit the cold hard needs of industry) and a white van in the car park.

    There were men standing around wearing hi-viz whom I can only assume are contractors, too. Deduction tells me that they're either preparing a workwear catalogue photoshoot, or having a look at the lights!

    I caution against excess optimism. This isn't the end. It's probably not the end of the beginning. But it might be the end of the pre-amble. Maybe.
