Ru, how is year two of the Lambert revolution going. Seems like they are back to the relegation form that had them in such dire straits last season without the excuse of falling back on the fact that he'd blooded a lot of youngsters.
The young 'uns have a season under their belts and I'm not sure they've kicked on sufficiently to keep the relegation scrap at bay. Feels like villa are one long term injury to benteke away from dropping points left right and centre..

I disagree. Yes - we should be taking points from other mid-table plodders like Utd, but our season is looking comfortable. I'd hoped we would kick on to a place in the top 8-10, but Benteke seems very out of sorts.
Our problem is consistency and form at home. We're set up to play fast, counter-attacking football which is working away, but we need to keep possession and be more solid at the back rather than sitting back and soaking up pressure.

Terrible stats in the Guardian at the weekend about home form - we are the worst team by a mile. IIRC the only team with -ve goal difference at home over the last couple of seasons.

Sort-of ... He sort of started saying something about it and then clammed up. I think he basically ended up getting 8 players, none of whom were his first choice.

I've said it before and I will say it again- we bought too many players and its unfortunate that there was a real lack of available talent when we suddenly had 100 mil to throw around. Classic Levy though- spend all summer squeezing 10% out of a deal that is all but done, then spray some money around on whoever is still availablr at the last minute, when all the sensible clubs have had their deals wrapped up and doing pre season.

Not saying he's going to turn into Ferguson or anything, but a bit of patience and a hand on the shoulder saying we're behind you, rather than the fans thinking we've spent the money, we should be winning the title, get him out.

Yes we haven't played scintillating football, and we're in the midst of having to field makeshift defenders, and AVB not being flexible enough in his tactical thinking, but to tear it up and start again feels like madness...

Win a cup, push on for fourth and he give him another season to gel the players who we've bought, I doubt seriously we will be active in the transfer market in january, or next year. So fans need to get used to this team and backing the manager to get the best out of them..
