7710 low flange is the best you can buy thats in production, the inner races last forever and get smoother over time. Its a pity they never used the 7710 locknuts for the large flange 7600 hubs, the 7710 locknuts are the same as suntour superbe, thicker than everything else traditional(zipp and white industries have similar size) with more surface grip, great for sprinters
Not too sure about the production---- would not even be betting that the 7710 are still in production (its quite common for companies to make parts in large batches to get economies of scale and then assemble them later as needed)--- but they are still being sold by Shimano. The 7600 NJS (36x and sold axle) is still an extremly common sight in Japan and relatively easy still to purchase new (the rear seem to be drying up a bit in Europe but the fronts, especially 36x non-NJS, can be found at near closeout prices).
