Never get yourself in debt over Christmas presents, how on earth are you meant to enjoy Christmas if your in debt?
Virtually everyone has some kind of financial commitment. My debt level currently stands at just under £60k. But that's a socially accepted debt they call a mortgage.
Sorry I didn't word that properly. I meant how are you meant to enjoy Christmas if you've gotten in to debt over it.

Meant to buy my brother a Yashica T3 (to try and perk some interest in something!) and get him into photography, so he could build a portfolio and try and get on a foundation. Missed it though. DAMN!

I don't do Christmas. My family are used to it by now, so they know not to get me anything. I'll go to the folk's house and treat it like Sunday lunch, and i'll go for a run while they are all doing the present opening thing.
The pressure to buy stuff still gets to me, but making the decision to say to everyone "I'm not getting you anything, and please don't give me anything." is very liberating. -
