How about the kit lens?
-
• #4953

-
• #4954
too late

• #4955
nope, I don't have the kit lenses, when I bought it I got a 50mm and a telephoto. :/ I saw some used 18-55mm to sell, but would it be a good purchase?

Saw a 18-55 for £67 used on Amazon.

They're pretty handy and dirt cheap. I'm sure you can find them on ebay for around fifty quid.
-
• #4958
They're pretty alright, alas not that fast (since you mentioned gigs).

Wicked. I like how he still has a readable facial expression, only really distorted. Were you riding a bike at the time?

No, just running around being a nuisance as usual.
It was 1/15th at f4, 3200 with a D80.I've set up a Facebook page for my polo stuff and have been redoing old sets. I'd forgotten about this picture for about 3 years. Facebook is proving a great way of getting polo people to see the photos - my Flickr view count has gone up from 180,000 to 220,000 in a month.
It's here if anyone is interested.edited

Keep at it. Next thing you know you're the go-to guy for anything polo media. Few times I went, the potential for amazing pics blew me away!!
I'm gonna throw a hypothetical out there. Who has a 50mm 1.8 Nikon they'd swap with a 35mm one. Just testing water.

They're relatively cheap and great quality. I'd suggest just getting one when you can. If you fancy trying one first I have one you can borrow.

I heart my 35mm dx lens

50mm 1.8 Nikon
AF? If not you might as well get a "Series E" one in good condition for next to nothing.
Build quality isn't top notch with them, but they're sharp and contrasty as the others. -

I used the same DX 50mm for years, till I got an F100 to mess around with, stuck it in that then someone stole both. Went wider and as much as I love it, the 35mm just isn't as speedy or sharp as the 50mm. Shooting with it feels like a hit and miss situation, so thinking I might go back to the nifty fifty.
I'm a one lens kinda guy and I've had best time with the 50mm so far, so debating the swap. -

Picking it up tomorrow. And also buying another D7000 second hand, It's been an expensive week. If I ever got excited about anything it would be about having two cameras again.

Thinking of getting Mrs 8 a decent point and shoot - looking at the Lumix DMCTZ40EB-K - gets 'good keep it on auto' reviews

anything else similar price range (£150 - £200 ish) I should consider?

Don't bother looking beyond the Lumix, they are excellent, I tend to have one in my pocket most of the time. I must get around to putting some pix up on this thread, maybe some Summer ones to remind us it did once exist......

nice, will do for me cheers
I'm looking for a wide angle lens for my Canon 600D, I do not have 300 quid to spend on a Tamron or Canon Lens, does anyone has any tip? I already have a 50mm, but I want something wider, for smaller spaces, like gigs. Maybe something that I could use an adapter, I'm willing to experiment.
Cheers!
