Made a polo bike disc brake guard out of a £1.50 frying pan and a chunk of strip steel.
Without the steel it would just bend into the rotor on the first impact, but with it its very sturdy.
Mounts on the QR axle (I have narrow fork dropouts so its not a problem) and the lower IS disc mount hole, however if I'm going to run the BB7 or Deore mechanical calipers i'll have to cut a load more off it, looking to try an Avid juicy which have a very low profile, hopefully will tuck in behind - hence upcut for now.Completely encloses the 160mm disc rotor with about 10mm overlap toward the wheel so impossible for fingers/shin guard straps/mallets/QR levers getting in there.
Total cost about £1.75/ 60 minutes -

How so?
Seen a crash resulting in bent rear IS mounts before, but so was the frame.

Frying pan disc guards can get the fuck out, janky ass mother fuckers. Why not use a chopping board for a saddle while you're at it?

As long as you use the appropriate board, what's the problem?
Ladies may differ, but I guess the guys will want a mix of red and brown for their meat and two veg. -

Yeah, because fuck diy. If you're not paying top dollar for purpose-built parts, you don't belong in bike polo.
