Looks wrong to me, cheap head / flimsy base.
Might just be a cheaper model than my Pista but that has a nice cast base and brass chuck.

Yes, I thought it looked a bit wrong, but I don't know anything about them.
Thanks for your thoughts.

It might be made by Silca, but that is *not * a "Silca track pump".
If you want to spend that amount then I'd go for a Joe Blow or similar, rather than risk uncertainty.

I have one of these, awesome pump.

It might be made by the same asian manufacturing giant as most other low/mid range track pumps and branded as Silca, but that is *not * the Silca track pump
FTFY.
There are proven pumps for that money (joe blow etc) so if that's the budget then go for one of them. If however you desire a Silca then I'd advise you to splash out and treat yourself to a proper one, you'll not regret it.

Thanks for the replies. Being a bit of a traditionalist I could be persuaded on THE Silca, but a quick Google on suppliers reveals ... Nothing ! Who sells them ? Otherwise it's a Joe Blow from Halfords.

This will pump up tyres all day, every day, for ever

But if you must have the Silca, you can get them here (I can't believe how cheap they are, I thought they were a similar price to the SKS)

http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/sks-rennkompressor-with-eva-valve-head-orange-3930-p.aspIt will but given the choice I'd go for the Silca. The Rennkompressor base is…temperamental and I've found the handle works loose pretty quickly and the EVA head is far from durable*.
Given this…

http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/silca-super-pista-floor-pump-prod30075/Silca wins hands down.
I bet SJS stock every singly tiny little piece of it as a spare too.
*This is in a busy velodrome. In average Joe's garage it'll probably last a lifetime.

Well, thanks again, the Silca looks like a bargain. If the postage is just a fiver, I'll get one and leave it to my son in my will !

TBH the recent Silcas have a pretty average chuck (the screw-on reversible type pictured on the SJS page). It works but it's really slow to get on and off. I cut mine off and replaced it with a hirame for ultimate track pump pimpness.

On my SKS I fitted one of these

Which has to be the best presta chuck I have ever used -

Ordered the Silca, in orange to match the bike.

Dredge... anyone know where I can get replacement rubber bits for my old school Silca track pump? The piston bit inside the barrel, not the hoses, etc
-

SJS?
I’ve had to replace bits inside mine when a heavy handed sprinter broke it so they are definitely available.

Fair shout. I'm in Oz so it probably didn't feature highly in my search results.
I guess mine is an older model and uses the 28mm version of the gasket, but the one in it is rubber and not leather, so maybe it's a cheaper model or something?

Maybe somebody did a swap in the past. I don’t recall Silca ever using a rubber washer.
-

I think you can get them all directly from Silca in the US as well

It could've been me. I must've had it for 25 years. It's been borked for years but it's really annoying now.
I'm in the market for a floor pump, does anyone know if this Silca is genuine, or a knockoff ? It's a good price but doesn't look like the pista or superp. If it isn't I'll probably go for a Joe Blow.
