  • Okay, so here's what I've actually found out ...

The bike is a Ridley Force 6 (d'oh!), with a special Marsini design, probably from the early 00's. I got this information from Ridley themselves, having given them the serial number off my BB. Okay, I feel a bit foolish now, as it says *"Force 6" *and "by Ridley" on the bike. The Dave Marsh reference came from the Universal Cycle Centre website, where it says: "Dave Marsh and Marsini custom built bikes and wheels, have been ridden to success by World, Olympic, Commonwealth and National Champions" ... so naturally, I had assumed that he might have had something to do with the bike's construction.

However, Ridley still haven't come back to me with any information on why the bike has "a special Marsini Design" (their words in an email to me).

So, what I'm still trying to find out is why the bike has "Marsini" emblazoned over it. Can anyone shed any light on this? Any ideas would be appreciated, however speculative.
