That was a custom aero road bike build by Rob English for Jack at Fairwheel and was on their Interbike stand .. if you look on their site there are a lot more close ups of the detail features.

But they're always worth posting, just for the interest and discussion imo.

I appreciate Rob's craftsmanship, but they're overly engineered and as Tester said last a few pages ago, so much effort when you could have a faster bike that's considerably cheaper and ready, from a factory... Like I say, appreciate the craftsmanship, just not for me.

To me the Merckx isn't boring, it's classy while playing it down.
Great bike, definately would. -

To someone who appreciates this age track bikes I'm sure its stunning but I mean in general, parts aside, the frame is a straight forward, standard shape steel track frame which you could see with different logos on hundred of pages on this thread.
Nice bike n' all, just for me, its nothing special other than its brand's significance. -

Can't find the photo now, but that Merckx has a road twin.

I am ashamed, I read the waffle, they have a squillion years of experience in their workforce. However, what if they have a workforce of 15? The math (American) works against them, as does the heavy show-pony which at that weight could easily be bought for a grand from a reputable sweatshop employer.
What price up-your-own-posterior artesan idiocy?
Damn, I've drunk too much again.

I hear ya. The statistician in me always gets upset when reading about x number of years' cumulative experience in a workforce. I imagine a couple of different workshops staffed on the one hand by the oldest single person in the world, barely able to use a toilet let alone a tool, and on the other a whole class full of toddlers, who really shouldn't be let anywhere near a blow torch.
As for the bike, I'm sure the Americans love all that matchy stuff but I just see a lot of blue anodised anti.
