You can run brakes on unmachined rims but they'll feel awful until the paint wears off and you'll have to clean paint dust off your brakeblocks and forks.

I don't know if those rims have parallel sides or not, but getting rims designed for brakes would be worth whatever the extra cost is.

Just placed an order for a wheelset for my upcoming conversion, decided to splash out a bit more for the Miche hubs (I keep spending a bit more than intended on this conversion and justifying it by thinking "buy cheap buy twice", etc ;) ). Looking forward to it! Just wondering, what's the average turnaround time? As getting them within the next week would be preferable.

normally they are pretty quick I had mine in a couple of days. Drop Jim (Varno) an email he will tell you what to expect. wheels are worth a wait though, they are bomb proof for a road use.

I know it's pickey but if I take black rims, hubs and spokes will I receive black or silver nipples?
