I have the Fix-ts (fuxxored) but am struggling to find anywhere that sells the fuckers, tho i can get the Hunters no problem. My concern is chiefly whether or not the hunters will be compatible with my current BB & chainring. They're both 19mm 48 spline axles so i'm guessing not - or am i missing something?

They'll be compatible. Gusset is distributed by ID which says fix-ts have been discontinued. I have some in 170 which I was going to stick on something when I find an axle for cheap/free. I know someone who did have some 165 going spare but I don't know if they've got rid or not, I could find out but it might be easier for you to replace yours with whatever 19mm 48spline cranks take your fancy.
